George Paterson Bio
Iowa City trombonist George Paterson began playing professionally at the age of 13. Although a minister, he has continued to be involved with music as a serious avocation. He retired as an associate professor of Religion and Medicine and Coordinator of Pastoral Services from University of Iowa in 1994. George has played with the orchestras of Martin Gray, Clarence Craven, Jim Hall, Dick Watson, Leo Cortimiglia, Eddie Piccard, the "Iowa City Slickers," Dox Big Band, Iowa City Big Band, New Venue Big Band, etc.
